Thoughts about the blog

May 19, 2011 — 4 Comments

Since I last wrote a post here, I was away for a weekend, then had a week on holiday, and got out of the swing of adding new posts. I’ve been taking lots of photos, but no posting here.

I‘ve been thinking a lot about this blog, feeling overwhelmed, feeling like I needed everything to be perfect, with perfect photos, brilliant writing. I’ve come to the realization that the truth is my posts will never be like those of @_______ (insert your favorite blogger/s Twitter accounts here), in style or content. Before beginning this blog I’d thought about all of that, but somehow lost sight of it.

And so I’m now back to my original goals: to write up / post photos of of my adventures in looking for great places to visit, great places to eat. It will be personal, and hopefully over time both the photos and the writing will improve.

It has been fun talking with people on Twitter and here on the blog that I would not have otherwise met, so I look forward to more of that. Thanks for reading this, for reading the blog.

I know how you feel about the blog…I’ve had to remind myself that it’s my hobby and just a bit of fun really.

That’s it! A bit of fun. I had to get back to that, rather than “performing” / worrying about perfection. It’s just a way of sharing about some of the things we are passionate about!

Yeah i get like that sometimes too, but then I know my family love to read it, so I mainly do it for them and me.
